The Arts & Crafts Conservation Company is a small business specialising in the restoration and conservation of antique metalwork. As qualified craftspeople, we offer artisan skill and craftsmanship, specialising in the restoration, preservation and maintenance of Arts and Crafts period metalwork. Our portfolio comprises of a broad range of commissions varying in technical degree, with projects that have included the work of Richard Llewellyn Benson Rathbone, C.R. Ashbee, The Birmingham Guild of Handicrafts, Christopher Dresser, Glasgow School, Newlyn, Keswick, Archibald Knox and many other art metalworkers of the period.

Educated and trained as silversmiths and jewellers we hold a broad and knowledgeable understanding and specialist skill. With expertise in the art and design field a keen admiration has been borne for the craftsmanship of those working within the traditional handcrafted metalwork industry.

Associations between the Arts and Crafts Movement is a mere two generations ago and our work is carried out with commitment, love and pride as was in the past. Our craftspeople continue to use the same techniques and processes as our forefathers. We use traditional tools, some over a hundred years old handed down from generations of craftspeople. Having respect for these once loved and well-tended tools of the silversmithing industry a sense of memory and imprinted signature is provided through their age and use, giving a special meaning and increased value in the work that has been carried out.
